Getting Started with All Enrollments

Device Enrollment is the very beginning process of device management. Hexnode supports iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and tvOS devices. The enrollment process varies for each platform, and it could be a no-touch enrollment, or you may have to enroll the devices manually.

Hexnode is available both as on-premises and cloud deployment models.

Before starting with the enrollment process, ensure that Enrollment settings are configured.

No-Touch Enrollment

No-Touch enrollment is the best way for the bulk deployment of corporate-owned devices. It is an out-of-the-box enrollment method where the devices get enrolled with Hexnode on merely powering on the device and connecting to a network. It eliminates the need to enroll the devices manually.

Apple Business/School Manager

DEP (Device Enrollment Program) helps in the bulk deployment of corporate-owned devices. It automatically applies settings and configurations to the device, making it ready to be used right out of the box.

Android Zero-Touch Enrollment (ZTE)

Android zero-touch enrollment is the best way when you have got a whole lot of corporate-owned devices awaiting deployment. It is an out-of-the-box enrollment method where the devices will be enrolled with Hexnode once it is powered on and connected to the network.

Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment (KME)

Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment allows to quickly enroll KME-supported devices with Hexnode. It is a one-step process which eliminates the need to enroll the devices manually. The devices will be enrolled with Hexnode once it is powered on and connected to the network.

Android ROM/OEM

Android ROM Enrollment is an easy way of enrollment, for organizations having specially configured ROM with all the permissions and privileges granted to Hexnode. The device automatically gets enrolled with Hexnode on powering on the device for the first time.

Open Enrollment

It is a quick enrollment process, where the devices can be enrolled directly by entering the server URL. Here, the admin needs to provide the enrollment URL and the users can enroll the devices using this URL.

QR Code – Bulk

Enroll bulk devices quickly with Hexnode using QR code enrollment. QR code required for the enrollment process will be present within the Hexnode console. Scan the code and the follow the on-screen instructions to complete the enrollment process.

Email

Enrollment can be carried out by sending enrollment information via email.

QR Code

Android Enterprise

Active Directory (AD)

Hexnode allows you to configure Active Directory with multiple accounts from a single console. Initially, configure Agent settings followed by AD Settings. Automatic sync can be scheduled on a daily/weekly basis.

Azure AD

Hexnode’s integration with Microsoft’s Azure AD allows managing Active Directory using the Directory ID obtained from the Azure portal. It allows you to sync your users and groups for easy enrollment and policy assignment.

Self-Enrollment – Local

Non-AD users can enroll their devices with Hexnode using the pre-shared credentials created by the admin. Admin can create the enrollment password from the Hexnode console, and the users can enroll by authenticating with these passwords.

Apple Configurator is a macOS program that allows to create configuration profiles, which helps in the easy deployment of iOS devices in business or school.

Pre-approve

Pre-approve allows the users to import bulk devices into Hexnode even before the enrollment process is completed. It enables the admin to proactively group devices and assign policies with all the configurations and applications. Upon enrollment, the policies get applied to the devices.
