Yes, Oliver.

App updates (and installation) on Samsung SAFE devices work silently with enterprise apps only. With store apps, Hexnode MDM can only redirect the user to the corresponding apps on Play Store and they have to manually tap Install/Update. However, you can always push silent updates by getting the updated APK file and adding it as an Enterprise app on Hexnode MDM.

It’s a good practice to have Auto-updates enabled on the user devices so that Store apps are automatically updated.

Hi Oliver,

You can now install store apps on any Android devices silently if they are enrolled on Hexnode using Android Enterprise, irrespective of whether they are company owned or personal devices.

Also, any Android device that is enrolled on Android Enterprise now supports silent installation of Enterprise apps as well. So it doesn’t matter if the devices are Samsung or from any other vendor, you could have them enrolled on Android Enterprise and you are should be able to install pretty much any app silently.
