G Suite and Work profile creation with Hexnode

Our organization uses G Suite. We have both company owned and BYOD devices.  BYOD devices are all Android. Would like to know about work profile creation in their environment?

    The BYOD devices can be enrolled as Profile Owner in Android Enterprise. Once enrolled, a separate work profile will be created on the device. This will prevent the mixing up of corporate and personal data on devices. The device will thus have both personal and work apps. The work apps will be marked with a work badge. Please check out the help doc on Profile Owner for more info.

    Since you have a G Suite account, you can integrate G Suite with Hexnode. This will ease the management of devices and you can sync users/groups in your domain to the MDM portal. You can also enroll devices in Android in the Enterprise using G Suite.

    Hey, Thanks for the reply.

    Yes, it can be. You can enroll the devices in both Profile Owner and Device Owner mode while using G Suite.
    The method of enrollment will depend on whether you have enabled the option ‘Enforce EMM policies on Android Devices’ under Security > Manage EMM provider for android-> General Settings in Google Admin Console.

    Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

    No, you will be able to enroll macOS and iOS devices via G Suite authenticated enrollment.

    1. Configure G Suite: Create service account and provide MDM with a specific API access to apply the configurations to managed devices.
    2. Enroll iOS/macOS devices via G Suite authentication:
    • Navigate to Enroll > Platform-Specific > iOS/macOS > Email/SMS. Switch to authenticated enrollment.
    • Select Google user under Enrollment Request or Self Enrollment.
    •  If Enrollment Request is chosen, select the medium to send the request, change the Domain to your G Suite domain and select the user.
    • Click Save.

    Now, open the Safari Browser on the device to be enrolled, enter the enrollment URL and complete the enrollment process.
